RESHAPING MITSUBISHI MOTORS IN THE UK
Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has announced several major changes in its UK sales, marketing and service operations, with effect from Wednesday 1st April 2009.1
Toby Marshall to become Director of Sales and Marketing
Following Jim Tyrrell’s move to Vice President and Lance Bradley’s promotion to Managing Director,2 Toby Marshall has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing.
Toby has been with Mitsubishi for 11 years and has held positions within Marketing, Product Management, Corporate Sales, dealer Area Management and most recently as General Manager of Sales Operations. He has welcomed the challenge of the new role, stating that, “Mitsubishi is a well-run Company, with excellent staff, management and products. The industry is in a difficult place right now, and we are not immune from the challenges this presents us with, but I am looking forward to getting us through this time stronger, with a dealer network that is robust and both financially and commercially viable.”
“We are delighted that Toby is replacing me as Director of Sales and Marketing,” commented Lance Bradley, “He knows our business and has gained invaluable experience in his 11 years here. He knows our dealers, and knows how important they are to our own future business success. He has all the right skills to help move this Company forward.”
Richard Weller To Become General Manager Of Sales And Dealer Development
To coincide with these other senior management changes, Richard Weller will take on the new and reshaped role of General Manager, Sales and Dealer Development. The new role merges together Mitsubishi’s Sales Operations with its Dealer Development and Training department to secure improved performance efficiencies.
Richard has been with Mitsubishi Motors for 17 years during which time he has gained immense experience as an Area Manager, Sales Planning & Analysis Manager, Ralliart Manager, Franchising Manager and most recently, General Manager of Network Development.

A Profile of Toby Marshall
Toby Marshall is 35 years of age, is married with two young children and lives in Warwickshire.
Toby graduated from Coventry University in June 1996 with a Degree in Human Geography. His first job was with CACI and involved the in-depth statistical analysis of census and post code data, including demographic mapping functions. He moved to SITEL in 1997, where he worked on the Mitsubishi Motors account, developing targeted demographic marketing campaigns, which was unique in the industry at the time.
He moved to Mitsubishi Motors in 1998, and has since held positions within Marketing, Product Management, Corporate Sales, dealer Area Management and most recently was General Manager of Sales Operations.
In his leisure time, Toby is Club Captain of Speares Rowing Club where his highlight was rowing at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2003. He is also a keen cyclist and regularly engages in both road cycling and mountain biking, and has also competed in several ‘Adventure Races’, which are similar to the triathlon discipline.
