After scoring its record-breaking 12th outright victory in the toughest test of man and machine on earth - the gruelling Dakar Rally - in 2007, Mitsubishi were denied the chance to do it all again this year, when the event was cancelled due to security related issues in areas along the route. Following on from this, the Mitsubishi Cross Country team has embarked on a campaign in the 2008 Dakar Series.
In 2009, the Dakar Rally moves to South America, and Mitsubishi will debut it's high-performance diesel engine in the all-new Lancer Racer. For the first time in many years, the Shogun / Pajero / Montero Evolution will not be raced as Mitsubishi moves into the next phase of its cross-country rallying programme. |

| Having become British Team’s and Driver’s Champions in 2007, Mitsubishi Motors UK returns to the British Rally Championship in 2008 to defend its titles. It enters two Group N Lancer Evolution IXs for its assault on this year’s six event calendar, which concludes with the Wales Rally GB, Britain’s round of the World Rally Championship.programme. |

| The high profile one-make series for Group N Lancer Evolutions continues for its eighth consecutive season. 2008 sees a seven round calendar, featuring two asphalt and five gravel surface rallies. With 15 teams registered it’s going to be another exciting year, as teams compete for a chance to compete in the Wales Raly GB in a new works Lancer Evolution X. |
